Win7 64bit on Fusion 3.0 / Snow Leopard

Can I run Win7 64 bit on Fusion 3.0 on Snow Leopard (MacBook Pro)? Its quite confusing, especially since you have to either purchase 32 or 64 bit Win7...

Make sure the MacBook Pro is Core2 Duo. The original CoreDuo 64Bit.

Is there a benefit to running x64 Windows 7 when Fusion is optimized for and recommends 1gb of ram?

I purchased the Win 7 Pro upgrade package from Amazon and it includes 2 CDs. One is the 32 bit installer and the other 64. On possible benefit of running 64 bit, I'm using a Mac Pro with 16GB RAM so I assigned 4 cores and 8GB to the Win 7 VM. I'll really give it a test in a couple of days after I install Vue 7 Infinite and see how it renders as opposed to the native Mac 32 bit version.
