I have a MBP Mid 2014 running MacOS Big Sur v11.7.7 + VMware Fusion Player v12.2.5 running Windows10.
I'd like to update to running Windows11.
1) What is the most recent version of the personal use VMware Fusion Player I can install and run a Windows11 in it?
2) Where and how to install Windows 11 in it?
Thank-you,

A web search for "VMware Fusion supported host" or "Supported host operating systems for VMware Fusion" would get you to the following VMware KB article, which answers your question about supported versions of Fusion for Big Sur.

To your Windows 11 question, a search for "Windows 11 VMware Fusion" will get you to this KB article.

This article is applicable to Fusion 12. The instructions found in Fusion 13 documentation for the installation of Windows 11 supersede this tech note if you have Fusion 13.
Do not use the Option 3 A "Use the Software feature by updating the vmx file" :n the article. The "software" feature that's described was highly experimental and comes with unacceptable restrictions (you can never move that VM to another system or easily decrypt it, for example).. Those restrictions were fixed in Fusion 13, but that doesn't run on Big Sur.
Use either options3 B ("standard" encryption that's available through the VM's Settings pane and add the TPM devicel) or 3 C (disable the TPM while installing Windows 11.)
Thanks for these concise pointers. You helped me out a few years ago with a major issue. Thanks to you it got solved. Good to hear from you and see you are continuing to spread your magic touch! I'll study these pointers and you'll likely hear back from me.
