What is the minimum Fusion version to successfully run Windows 10?

Hello,

What is the minimum Fusion version to successfully run Windows 10 (under El Capitan)?

I’m currently running Fusion 8.5 and Windows 7/64.

Thank you,

Chuck

Hi,

What version of Windows 10?

Yeah I know, it seems like it is all one version, but it is not really.

Every 6 months there's another version Windows 10.

You can use Fusion 8.5 to run last years Windows 10, but for Windows 10, 19.04 it is best to use the latest VMware Fusion 11.

Will it work with an older version of VMware Fusion such as Fusion 8.5?

Possibly.

FWIW, Fusion 8.5 has a number of security issues and it does not provide protection against any of the intel CPU bugs that have been found.

Fusion 8.5 is end of life and btw, so is macOS El Capitan.

Of course VMware Fusion has a number of hardware requirements that are different Fusion 8.5, so perhaps you have your reasons for running such an old version of Fusion.
