Looking around I see things like Fusion 8.x works but is not officially supported on High Sierra -- makes me nervous -- I depend of Fusion.
No prob -- I'll just upgrade to Fusion 10.
Aha -- Fusion 10 won't run VMs on my late 2010 hardware.
This of course leave me in a ridiculous situation where Fusion is forcing me to purchase new systems if I want to stay MacOS current.
I can't quickly find on the VMware site the "official" statement.
I'm hoping it says something like of course Fusion 8.x supports High Sierra.
Others with this dilemma?
Thanks.
Paul
The state of Fusion 8.x is it's not supported on High Sierra. The latest release of 8.5 works for some people with some features (including experimental APFS), but again, there's no support there. The KB for an official statement of support is here: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2088571

Thanks for the reference -- that's what I could not quickly find.
I thought about going to High Sierra and see if it works for me, but this feels a bit risky even though it looks possible to go to High Sierra and downgrade if it doesn't work.
I will more likely raise hardware replacement to higher priority.
FYI - downgrading from High Sierra isn't straightforward...it many cases, it can require manual intervention.
