After installing Security Update 2010-001, Fusion hosting XP has been behaving badly.
My preferred way of operating is to Command-Q Fusion at the end of the day, suspending the hosted VM. This all worked peachy until the Security Update.Now often when I quit Fusion it goes into limbo. It hangs and none of the keys or commands are functional within it. This seems independent of whether I'm in Unity or Single Window (I don't run Full Screen).
Another weirdness that occurs is that when XP goes to its lock screen (press ctrl-alt-del to unlock), neither the Virtual Machine > Send Ctrl-Alt-Del on the VMWare Fusion menu bar OR the version that's in the menu bar icon shortcut (which is very handy, btw, so thank you for that) is available (both greyed out).
This isn't the end of the world, just a pain in my *ss. I end up force quitting Fusion and relaunching it. It will then do the next one correctly. .
I have an open SR with VMware on this same topic, but if you can provide more information we can help them fix it.
