First, let me say I have been having a wonderful experience w/ VMWare Fusion - I love Macs, but need Windows for my work - VMWare Fusion has been a welcomed bridge. Of course, there is so much to learn, and fortunately the discussions on this blog has helped out a lot. I'm a programmer who develops software using Microsoft Access. When I run code, I occasionally test run new code and it will go into an infinite loop of some sort (or just take too long a time). CtrlBreak is my ticket to being able to pause the code where it's at so I can walk through each line and figure out the problem. All well and good, except there is no Break key on the Mac keyboard. Fortunately, I can use a full-size PC keyboard when I'm in the office, but seeing that there are plenty of travel times when I'll just have my MacBook keyboard, I was wondering if there was a way to CtrlBreak using a MacBook keyboard. And if not from the MacBook keyboard, how about from the larger, wired Mac keyboards (the ones with the numeric keypad)?
My thanks to whatever answers come my way, and also to all who have contributed to this discussion forum, because your question is my question...just a little in advance.
You would have to either remap a key, and on a MacBook not to may to chose from, or use the On-Screen Keyboard in Windows.
In Windows XP click > Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > On-Screen Keyboard
In Windows Vista click > Start > All Programs > Accessories > Ease of Access > On-Screen Keyboard
And if not from the MacBook keyboard, how about from the larger, wired Mac keyboards (the ones with the numeric keypad)?
If you have the extended keyboard, F16 should be Break (VMware Fusion Help > Contents > Using Mac Input Devices in a Virtual Machine > Using Mac Keyboards in a Virtual Machine)
