Last couple of months my Windows 10 VM crashes whenever I try to open an Excel file. I get that Windows blue screen of death with a countdown and the VM then reboots. Other MS Office programs all run fine. Not sure where to begin looking for clues.
Running:
Fusion Pro Version 10.1.6 (12989998)
Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041
Mac Mohave 10.14.6
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
Uninstall and reinstall Excel? Struggling to to think how this is a VMware issue and not a Microsoft one...

It would be great if you can attach the vmware.log to this thread for analysis. You can find the log file from your VM folder.
