Virtualize Windows 7 on SSD and HDD

Hi guys,

I am trying to virtualize an actual installation of Windows 7 on an SSD and HDD. My Windows 7 is set up so that everything is on the SSD EXCEPT for the Users and ProgramData folders (setup is from this guide User Profiles - Create and Move During Windows 7 Installation - Windows 7 Help Forums). I am able to boot up the Windows 7, but when I try to log in, it gives me "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded." Is there a way to add the HDD drive to fusion and make it recognize that the Users and ProgramData folders are on that drive?

Thanks for all the help! I would be so happy if I can get this working!

Are you trying to virtualize a boot camp installation or convert a separate physical install (i.e. on a PC) to a virtual machine?

If the latter, converting physical machines to virtual always results in a bloated, buggy, unstable virtual machine - you're always better off building a VM from scratch.  But if you want to try, use the standalone VMWare Vcenter converter, and make sure you convert both hard drives, not just one.

If doing this via a boot camp installation, maybe someone else can chime in.
