VMware Fusion 8.5.6 using too much CPU

Mac:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

2.8 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

macOS 10.11.6

Windows 10 Build 14393.1066

VMware 8.5.6 5234762

As soon as I start up my Windows VM, the fan starts running and doesn't stop until I suspend the VM. The vmware-vmx process on the Mac shows up at between 70%-350%.

The Windows VM is constantly at 0%.

Any ideas what could be causing this? My surroundings are very happy about the constantly running fan.

Hi,

How many vCPU's did you assign to the guest OS?

If more as 2 vCPU's then drop to 2.

If that doesn't help, please attach a vmware.log file to your reply here.

Does it persist if you power off the VM, reboot the Mac, and then start the VM up?
