VMware Fusion 12.2.1 Mouse Doesn't Work in Ubuntu VM which is imported from Parallel

I have a Ubuntu 18.04 VM imported from Parallel to Fusion. The VM runs in Fusion and keyboard works fine, e.g. I can use Command+8 to launch Terminal to install VMware tool. But mouse doesn't work inside VM. The mouse sometimes works at login screen. But it doesn't work after login.

Tried edit Keyboard/Mouse profile (1016955) and edit vmx file by adding mouse.vusb.startConnected = "FALSE" (2010041), none works.

Any direction will help!

Thanks

Did you remove any Parallels tools from your imported VM after you finished the import?

Thanks alot! That solved the problem.

1. Find prl-tools-lin.iso from Parallel app folder.

2. Mount the iso to Ubuntu VM

3. sudo the install app and select remove.

After reboot mouse is working fine.

Really appreciate your great advice!
