VMWare Fusion virtual hard drive problem

I have Windows XP Home Edition SP3 running through VMWare Fusion. The default hard drive size is 4Gb, which is very small, so through the VMWare settings i increased the hard drive size to 30Gb. When i start up Windows in Fusion, the c:\ drive is still showing 4Gb. When accessing the VMWare settings by clicking the little harddrive icon at the bottom right, the drive shows as being 30Gb.

Similarly, when i add an extra virtual hard drive, it doesn't update in Windows XP.

does anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks

The default hard drive size is 4Gb

It should be something more like 20 GB by default, though you might have picked a smaller initial size.

In the first case, you need to extend the partition to fill the empty space. See

In the second case you need to format the new virtual disk.
