VMWare Fusion Tech Preview will not install

I purchased VMWare Fusion just to discover that I can't run it on an M1.

I've completely removed all remnants of the x86 version and have downloaded the VMWare Fusion Tech Preview.

The installer will not get past the initialization stage. I've already posted in that forum and have received no reply.
