The majority of the VMs that I work with do not have X11 enabled - access is
almost exclusively Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) through the VGA console. (I'm
testing stuff that happens before network is available)
Even with open-vm-tools installed, no matter what I do I cannot prevent VMs from
stealing the mouse pointer. On Windows there used to be an option to prevent
that behavior - I cannot for the life of me find where this setting is in Fusion -
and this problem has been persistent for me since I started using Fusion (years ago
at this point)
All I want is the classic behavior where if the window is active, typing goes to it -
but I can move the mouse to another window and activate it with a click and typing
goes to the new non-Fusion window.
# Optimize for games setting makes no difference.
# open-vm-tools installed makes no difference
# Ubuntu 12.x, 14.x, CentOS 5/6/7 makes no difference
