I just installed VMWare Fusion 3.0. I have now a VMWare Fusion Icon on the status menu bar. I do not use Windows very often and it just bugs me to have an extra icon on the status menu bar. I understand that this icon provide easy access to my virtual machine but there has to be a way to enable and disable this functionality depending on your needs.
Does anybody know how to disable the VMWare Fusion 3.0 icon on the status menu bar?
Not at all!

Thank you for the quick response. Sorry for the "dumb" question, I feel bad after seen how easy is to turn it off.
thanks again

I just noticed the menubar item as well and looked everywhere with no luck for how to turn it off for the same reasons, I hardly ever run VMWare and I don't want to see the Finder menubar item all the time. I expected to find a setting in VMWare Fusion preferences, there should be a global preference there to never see it or only see it if VMWare Fusion is running if that is what you want.
When accessing Virtual Machine/Settings, I expect settings specific to each VM.
