VMWare Fusion 10.1.6 - Cannot create a VM from Mac OS Recovery Partition

This issue started some time ago but I have seen no resolution of the issue.

If I attempt to create a New VM with the MacOS recovery partition ( previously on High Sierra but now on Mojave 10.4.4 ) I get the messageVMWare Fusion could not find.png

I have seen this on all the machines I have tested with. Does anyone know how to fix this or get around this?

tjsoftworks,

This is a known issue in current Fusion release that we are tracking internally. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused by this issue to you.

Hi,

The current workaround is to download the installer via iTunes and then drag and drop the installer onto the create new VM wizard.

One other note, you need Fusion 11 for full mojave support.
