Hello,
I've just upgraded it from VMWare Fusion 8.5.x. to VMWare Fusion 10.0.0.
My guest OS is Ubuntu-16.04.2 and it used to work well in Fusion 8.5.x.
However, It has gotten stuck every 30 minutes since upgrading it. Once it happens, I have to shutdown my computer to use VMWare again.
Please, help me out.
My environment: macOS Sierra 10.12.6 , MacBook Touch bar
Thank you.
Hi,
I was going to look at your log files, but ... you took them away already.
Btw, for your information, the Community Forum is not an official support-forum and is not officially monitored by VMware Support or Product Managers.
This is a community based forum where VMware Fusion users help other users.
So most of the time -like now- you get an answer from a volunteer.
As a side note there are VMware employees who keep an eye on the forums and try to help out, but they might not see every post and most - if not all of them - are doing so in their own free time.
To get official support please go to: Fusion Support and open a ticket at File a Support Request

Hi buttonfly,
Thanks for reporting this. would you mind uploading the vmx log and the guest configuration (CPU, Memory, Accelerate 3D? ). It's helpful for us to investigate.
Hi,
My configurations are :
- CPU : 4
- RAM: 8192
- Accelerate 3D Graphics, Use full Retina display, All View Modes
- Use Fusion Display Preferences for both Single Window and Full Screen.
And I've tried to attach 'VMWare Fusion Problem Report xxxx-xx-xx.zip'. But, It was too large.
Is there another to send you the file?
Or where should I find a log file?
Thank you.
When guest get stuck again, please keeps the following two log files:
1. /Users/xxx/Library/logs/VMware Fusion/vmware-vmfusion.log
2. vmware.log in VM's bundle file (Right click VM folder and click 'Show Package Contents')
Hi ButtonFly,
My configurations are :
- CPU : 4
- RAM: 8192
You've not mentioned how much RAM your macbook has, but even if it has 16GB I would recommend to drop it to 6GB.
If your macbook has less then 16GB then my suggestion is to halve your RAM on your VM to 4GB.
For the CPU's I would also suggest to drop to 2 cores instead of 4.

Hi Wila,
I've tried it with your recommendations.
However, it didn't solved the problem.
Thank you, anyway.

Hi Wil,
Yes, you are right. I didn't know that. I thought this was an official support site.
Thank you for your information.
