VM Fusion Mouse and Keyboard not recognized

Hi,

I have a fully functional VM for Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan.  It was created in El capitan with Fusion 10.  When I move it to my Catalina box running Fusion 12, the VM converts the VM, then loads but I can't use my wired USB mouse or keyboard.

I have already tried the

Quit Fusion

System -> Accessibility -> Remove VMFusion, Add VMFusion

Restart Fusion with no success.

This same Fusion 12 runs a VM of a newer OS (10.14) without these issues,   Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jeff

The sweet spot is Fusion 11.  It allows the VM to work perfectly.

I was able to reproduce this on my 10.10 VMs.  In my case I had a 2011 iMac for many years so I never set my VMs for USB 3.0.  Today I audited my VMs for e1000e, cpuid.coresPerSocket = "2", and USB 3.  In Fusion 12 they call it USB 3.1 but it writes the same value for USB 3.0 to the vmx file.  I started with 10.9 and that worked.  10.10 no workie.  If I set the 10.10 VMs back to USB 2.0 they work again in Fusion 12.  These VMs use hardware version 11 which is the oldest you can go and still get virtual camera support.  The tools are 10.0.12.2406 (build-14792880) which is I think the newest tools that will work.

For me the 10.11 VMs worked with USB 3.1 enabled.  They are also set for hardware version 12 and use the tools that ship with Fusion 12 - 11.1.5.22735 (build-16724464).
