VM Error Message

Please help!!

Everytime I log into windows I am getting the following error from VM Tools:

VM Tools has modified settings to enable sharing data with the host. You must log off to apply these settings. Press ok to log off now. Press cancel to log off later.

I have done both and keep getting this error everytime I log in.

I am also getting the following error from Microsoft:

We can't sign into your account. The problem can be fixed by signing out of your account and signing back in. If you don't sign out now, any files you create or changes you make will be lost.

I have signed out and back in and get this message everytime. Please help me.

Hi,

This is a windows error that you get when either your windows profile is corrupt or if your file system is corrupt.

The VMware Tools report is a red herring as it is a side effect of the corrupt Windows profile.

If this is a new VM... trash it and create a new one.

If this is an existing VM with valuable data, then before you follow any of the steps above.

Shut it down, close VMware Fusion and copy the VM bundle to an external disk, so that you have a backup of your VM before you make any changes.

Good luck!
