I go to "settings" and click "enable", but the check disappears in a second, and I cannot print. Can anyone help??

Is the VM shutdown, have you read the documentation about the guest printing on the host printer? Take a look at this document for the information that is usually needed to be able to offer you help
I originally had some issues getting printing working with one of my VMs so this thread may be of some help
