Upgrading a Windows 10 32-Bit VM to 64-Bit with UEFI and TPM 2.0

I am trying to upgrade my Windows 10 32-Bit VM to 64-Bit in preparation of upgrading to Windows 11. The VM is encrypted, UEFI boot is on and I have a TPM 2.0 device configured. SecureBoot is off. I use the latest version of VMware Fusion Pro.

When I try to attach a USB device or Windows ISO image (as a SATA DVD device) for booting, the UEFI tells me it cannot find a boot file on the CD/DVD and proceeds to boot from the hard disk.

Any idea on how to make my VM boot from the ISO image? it was created with the Windows Media Creation Tool, so it should be OK.

Did something change?  I didn't think you could covert from 32 to 64 bit even on a physical machine.

I am curious too.  32-bit to 64-bit is wipe and install on physical.  For my 32-bit when it finally stopped running earlier this year I installed a new 64-bit and moved on.  Arguably you could use USMT or have your data and apps backed up for reinstallation on the 64-bit image?
