Upgraded from XP to Vista - Fusion no longer launches Boot camp virtual machine

I used to run Windows XP in the boot camp and used VMware fusion to access the boot camp partition.

I recently installed Windows Vista on the boot camp partition - I nolonger can use Fusion to access the boot camp partition. Un-installing/reinstalling VMWare fusion doesn't work.

Appreciate any suggestions on how I can resolve this.

Thanks

While Fusion isn't running, delete the Boot Camp metadata and the helper virtual machine located in /Users/$/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines. Unless you've done something strange (which you would hopefully know about), your data is on the Boot Camp partition itself and is safe. The next time you run Fusion, the Boot Camp virtual machine will be recreated.
