I have a Windows XP VM which was created with VMware converter. I converted it and then upgraded to XP SP2.
I noticed yesterday that every-time I insert a USB flash drive I get a VMware message stating that in order to use USB 2.0 I need to upgrade my VM.
The trouble is I am not sure how to do this. The VMWare tools are up to date and in the VM settings the USB 2.0 checkbox is greyed out.
Other VMs seem to have USB 2.0 support, is this a legacy from the converter program?
Any ideas?
Cheers

If you power off your VM (not suspend, but actually shutdown the guest and power off), the menu item in the "Virtual Machine" menu called "Upgrade Virtual Machine" will become active. Simply select that, and that should lead you through the upgrade process. It may take a few minutes, but once it's done, everything should be good to go.
Did you perform step #4 in the link? (Upgrading the virtual hardware).
Is your VM powered OFF when you took the screenshot you posted? Guests must be powered off to make virtual hardware changes.
