Updating VMWare Tools correctly

I've updated to Fusion 3.1.3 (from 3.1.2), and found updating VMWare Tools to be a bit perplexing. The process seemed to end up hanging without any resolution.

My OS is Mac 10.6.7, and I've got Windows XP in a Boot Camp partition.

From the Control Panel in XP, I have found the VMWare Tools version to be 8.4.7 - build 416484. Is this the current version? Have I managed to update successfully?

Build number 416484 seems to be the latest available from the update repository:

So it looks you are up to date.

There isn't a wee nag-box popping up about VMWare Tools anymore, so I had made the rather shallow assumption that the update had proceeded correctly, but didn't really trust my own powers of deduction.
