Unity - rendering issues on MBP 17"

Config MBP 17" 1920x1200/2.4GHz/4GB/OS10.4 - vmware - Windows XP Professional SP2

Switching to unity for any application just seems to lock vmware fusion.

Nothing in the dock or desktop.

The only thing still possible is to select quit (all view options are grey), after which I can switch to not suspend and then switching to Full screen (view option not grey anymore) slowly re-renders part of the screen....

Does someone have a suggestion on how to solve this issue?

Can give you some therapy for the jealousy part.

Gorgeous machine but also issues with wireless (WPA, WEP) on certain routers and it ain't the routers...even apple isn't perfect.
