Hi, I've just bought a license for Fusion 12, but because I'm still running Mac OS 10.12.6 need to install Fusion 10
Unfortunately, my licence key is not recognized and I get an error message.
What can I do ? Why this license is not valid with Fusion 10 ?
Thanks for you help
I know it'll work with Fusion 11. This is a paid license, not the free one? That can't be downgraded.
FWIW, 10.12 is really old and has a lot of security vulnerabilities in it. Can you get upgraded to a supported version?
Hi, it's a paid version
Can't upgrade to Catalina for now, I have too many professional tools to backup/migrate
But :
Fusion 10 is available to download from vmware
Fusion 10 requirements are OK with macos 10.12.6
This is the reason why I choosed to buy a license. Everything was stated as ok on VMware web/store
That's not a security concern, but a Fusion 10 problem which refuse to recognize the key.
You'll need to downgrade your license: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/81665
@chris54 Have you tried to downgrade your license through the My VMware portal? I have a Fusion 11 Pro license that it will let me downgrade to Fusion 10, but I don't know if the portal will allow a Fusion 12 license to be downgraded to Fusion 10 (that's because I'm using the non-commercial free version of Fusion 12 player....).
Just had a look at the downgrade process, and I can only downgrade to Fusion 11, not Fusion 10
Not a very lucky day ![]()
