Unable to use keyboard or mouse when upgraded to MacOS 10.14 (Mojave) and VMWare Fusion 10.1.3

I have recently upgraded my MacOS to version 10.14 and VMWare Fusion to 10.1.13. Ever since I have not been to use my keyboard or my mouse with the guest OS, in this case it is Ubuntu. It is like VMWare does not allow me to focus on the guest OS. Any ideas how this can be fixed?

I am using a keyboard and a mouse which are using a USB port.
