I have an XP 64 bit disk image I'm installing into a new VM. I'm running VM Fusion 2.05 and also run Win 7 64 bit and Win XP 32 bit (not at the same time, though).
When I install the XP 64 bit image, the install completes and then restarts the VM for the final steps. That's when the blue screen of death appears with the error:
irql_not_less_or_equal
Everything I've researched suggests there's a driver mismatch or memory problem. I have disabled all the virtual drivers in the SETTINGS. I can't install the VMWare drivers until I can actually get XP to come up and log in, so the drivers are the original WinXP ones which must be conflicting somewhere with this install.
Any other ideas on how to get beyond this step?
