I am attempting to install Fusion 12 Pro and I don't get any further than this
Can someone assist?
Thanks in advance...
That looks like you have Fusion installed and you're trying to power on a Windows 10 VM which is not booting correctly, rather than you being unable to install Fusion.
Or have I missed something?
Thank you for your reply.
I have downloaded these:
Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File) and VMware Fusion 12.0.0 (for Intel-based Macs)
I have not installed the Windows software and I get the problem when running the VMWare installion.
This is the download I am trying to install Fusion from:
Name:Release Date:Build Number:
VMware-Fusion-12.0.0-16880131.dmg
2020-09-14
16880131
But your image shows a Fusion title bar, so Fusion itself must be installed and running.
And the black console window is a VM trying to boot from some sort of boot device, presumably you want it to boot from a Windows ISO image to install Windows in that VM?
Have you configured the VM settings for the CD drive to point to the ISO file? Is the CD drive configured to connect when the VM is powered on? Are you sure the ISO file is bootable?
Once again thank you for your prompt response.
To be honest, I have no idea if the ISO is bootable. I have just followed a Youtube video on how to install the Fusion software. I have downloaded the Fusion application and Windows ISO file to my MacBook hard drive and started the installation using the Fusion .dmg file. I do not have a CD drive; as I have said, both files were downloaded to the hard drive. Do I need to set up the Fusion software to find the Windows ISO file? And if so how do I do that?
Thank you....
My comment about CD drive was about the VM, not your physical system.
You have Fusion installed successfully on your Mac, and are trying to install Windows in a VM.
I would suggest you have a look here before doing anything else: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Fusion/12/com.vmware.fusion.using.doc/GUID-83A92593-5DAC-426D-8B79...
Thank you for your help. I have now successfully installed the Fusion software and all appears to working well.
Regards...
You mean you have now successfully built a Windows VM, as per each of my replies the Fusion software was already successfully installed.
Yes, that's what I meant to say.
Thank....
