Unable to get past the upload of Microsoft Fixes

I have not used Fusion in a long time, so when I started it up, it started Win 7 and began to churn through 93 updates. About half way through I sort of accidentally closed the lid on my air book.  Now when I start fusion it lets me select the Win 7 machine but then appears to be stuck on update 45 of 93. 

Any ideas on how to get it to finish the updates so I can use Windows?

That's a windows problem.  If it's stuck, you can try cancelling it.  If not,  you may have to force-power off the virtual machine - but make sure you have a good backup (not time machine) before attempting it.
