The previous discussion described the same problem I am seeing - I am unable to take a snapshot as the files cannot be deleted. I have looked at my CID/Parent CID as follows. I have 4 vmdk disks and the base. My CID chain is as follows:
0004->0003->0001->0002->base
The chain does not appear to be broken, but the order seems odd... Must it go from 1->2->3->4->base?
Any help appreciated here. I already downloaded the hex editor in case this can be fixed. I would hate to lose this vm as I just created it for VS'05 and it took all day with all the downloads and patching etc. etc. etc.
