I use Macbook Pro with Big Sur OS. I have installed the latest version of VM Fusion version 12
I installed the latest Windows 10 update 20H2. When I restart the system, it is STUCK in the WELCOME screen
I had to roll back the feature update
Microsoft Techs - Level 1, 2 and 3 tried to troubleshoot but were NOT able to
They say that there may be some missing VM Fusion Drivers
How so I get hold of these drivers? Any help is much appreciated
i have fusion 12.1.0 and no problems with windows 10 update 20H2 and all other future previews version
This must work, the problem is not the actual fusion version!
Do you have enough memory and disk capacities?
i have osx big sur 11.3 beta 4! Also on Macbook Pro and Imac Pro, no problems
Yes. I have 108GB unused space and the RAM is 3GB
I have the same problem.
System version: macOS 11.3.1 (20E241)
Kernel version: Darwin 20.4.0
16 GB Memory
Model: MacBookPro16,1
Processor: 8-Core Intel Core i9 2,3 GHz
Fusion Professional Version 12.1.1 (17801503)
4 Cores and 4096 MB Memory for Windows 10 32 Bit, Build 19042.870
After installing KB5003173 (Cumulative Update for Windows 10 20H2), Windows is stuck at boot up and the installation ultimately rolls back with error 0x800f0845.
I found the culprit: IOMMU was activated in Processor advanced settings.
After deactivating this option, the upgrade went through.
Thank you very much, @schuhmab!
Hope everything works out for you and that you and your family stay safe. God bless!
i had no problem with this update, but i have a i7-processor and i am on osx 11.4 beta
what are the symtoms and error messages?
Thank you @jigger this worked for me as well. Specifically, I had tried to install this update several times and kept getting stuck at the welcome/boot screen.
2021-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x86-based Systems (KB5003173)
Disabling IOMMU worked.
- Core M5-6Y54 :: MacBook running Big Sur
- Windows 10 (32 bit) guest in VMWare Fusion 12.1.1
Just curious.
Was the VM on the latest virtual hardware?

Yes.
Ah OK, good to know.
I'm on the insider preview channel for one of my Win 10 VMs, but never run with IOMMU.
Using latest virtual hardware can sometimes fix weird issues, not so much this time then.
