USB issue with Mac Yosemite

I have a USB device connected via a USB 2.0 hub to Win 7 running using VMWare 7.1.1 on a Mac pro running Yosemite 10.10.3

When I run the associated program there is a connection and the app displays data from the USB device but only for 2-3 seconds. I then see a string of error messages which the app developer says indicate that the USB concretion has powered down (the error message says 'no device connected').

Confirmed all settings correct; device driver up-to-date, etc.

Any suggestions for overcoming the problem will be appreciated...

I have same problem with Mac OS X 10.9.5, Windows 8.1 with an USB disk dock Sata bridge. I don't know how to solve, but from other groups many users say vmware fusion not very good with USB.
