Trying to install VMware fusion 12 on Mac Big Sur to run a Windows application

Hi Guys

I am trying to install VMWare 12 successfully on my Mac book (Big Sur O.S) to enable me to run a Windows application that is limited to Windows operating system.

I have downloaded the VMWare, and have started installation, however I do not know whether I need to also download a version of Windows 10 onto my Mac to enable me to run windows 10 through VMware Fusion. Do I need to download a version of Windows 10 beforehand to enable me to run it on my Mac Book through VMWare?

Would this enable me to then run a Windows application on the Mac through the VMW?

Thanks

Marius

1. Nothing to do with VIO, which is the area where you’ve created the thread. I have reported the thread so moderators are notified it needs moving.

2. It is up to you to provide the OS installation media to Fusion for building the OS in a VM.

3. You will also need to license that OS.
