Hi,
I ordered Fusion 4 and currently running ver 3. Should have Version 4 in a few days from Newegg but was wondering if I installed the Trial
Version would I be able to plug the serial key in there once I get it in the mail or is the Trial version just a handicap version and I should just wait til I get the full install cd in the mail?
Thanks.
You can use the regular license key with the trial version and will have no less functionality. You can always re-install later with the DVD from NewEgg, too, if you like. It ships with VMware Tools for Linux, and a few other things.
So if I install version 4 Trial I'll still have to install the Full version over again? Such that Trail 4 wont accept serial keys?
Thanks.
There is no trial version of VMware Fusion! What you download is the fully functional GA release version of VMware Fusion and its only limitation is when using the free 30 day trial serial number it expires vs a normal purchased serial number or the serial number that comes with a boxed copy that doesn't expire in 30 days.
Just enter the serial number from the purchased copy when you get it and that is all you need to do.
Woody is right, the disk has a few more tools on it, but the 'trial' is the full version of the software. You won't have to reinstall.
So it will accept my purchased serial number when it arrives and be able to be updated to the latest release?
Thanks.
Reason I ask is I don't want to ruin the installation I already have by doing unneccesary uninstalls and installs, but I'm curious to try out the version!

Yes, and start by downloading the latest VMware Fusion 4.x version and use the free 30 day trial serial number and when you get the purchased one just input it (the serial number) and all will be well.
The only thing that is the trial is the free 30 day trial serial number not the software!
Ok, Will give it a go. Mostly interested in seeing if there are any performance increases as promised in running Windows 7.
Just hope Windows 7 Activation doesn't go haywire again. Wish there was a way to permanently disable that but that is a
subject for another discussion..
Thanks.
