Tips for running Mountain Lion in Fusion 4?

Host: MacBook Pro late 2009 (8GB RAM), Mountain Lion 10.8.1, running Fusion 4.1.3

Guest: Mountain Lion 10.8.1, installed using the "Lion" option.

* In the guest I get crashes and lock-ups whenever FaceTime is used (with the iSight camera patched through).

* Animations are crap and laggy.

* I get stuttering static-y sound too.

On the host I get weird five minute-long freezes and system-jamming beachballs, especially when I'm using Finder. Lots of flickering on the screen too, even if Fusion is minimized.

Any solutions to these problems?

I bought Fusion 4 recently (not recent enough to qualify for the upgrade) and am not inclined to pay yet again for Fusion 5. Very, very surprised they want almost full price for the upgrade.

There's no 3D acceleration for OSX guests yet, so that's the primary problem.

Fusion 5 has much better 10.8 support, but still no 3D.

So what you're saying is that running OS X as a guest is always a sub-optimal experience?

What about the other issues I mentioned?
