The Boot Camp volume is not prepared to run as a virtual machine.

Hello.

I'm trying to create a Boot Camp VM, but get the following error:

The Boot Camp volume is not prepared to run as a virtual machine. It appears that Windows did not shut down cleanly the last time it was used.

To shut down Windows cleanly, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and set Windows as the startup operating

I have High Sierra 10.13.2, VMware Fusion 10.1.1 and windows 10 installed via Boot Camp. System integrity protection is disabled. Windows boots normally from startup selection screen. Windows was shut down cleanly.

Hi neekeet ,

Please boot into your native Boot Camp, shut it down cleanly by start menu -> power -> shutdown. Boot into mac OS, re-create the Boot Camp via Fusion.

Hi neekeet ,

Could you please re-create your Boot Camp VM and upload log files?

1. Fusion UI :

~/Library/Logs/VMware Fusion/vmware-vmfusion.log

2. Boot Camp VM(if exists):

~/Library/Application\ Support/VMware\ Fusion/Virtual\ Machines/Boot\ Camp

You can get log file by right-clicking BootCamp.vmwarevm ->Show Package Contents, then you can see vmware.log, that the vmx log.

Thanks a lot.
