Spinning wheel hanging with MacBook Pro (late 2011) and 2 Thunderbolt displays

Anyone see this issue happen? I have VMware Fusion 4.1.1 running on a MacBook Pro 17" (late 2011) with the lid open. When I plug in a chain of 2 Thunderbolt displays, a majority of the time the spinning wheel pops up and Fusion becomes unresponsive (other applications still respond and can be closed). The only way to get Fusion to work again is to force power-off the machine (standard shutdown hangs as well... I'm forced to hold down the power button to shut the machine off regardless). If I don't power-off the machine, it eventually becomes completely unresponsive and even Finder is stuck.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

If you're running Unity or full screen mode, turn it off before adding the monitors.

Was out of the office yesterday; but, got a chance to try it today and I made sure my VM was in single window mode and a second or two after the OS X desktop background showed up on the Thunderbolt displays, Fusion started to hang with the spinning wheel. This time, I had no keyboard/mouse access and had to power cycle to get things going again.

Booting up with the displays attached afterwards works fine.
