So . . DirectX acceleration in Vista VMs, how is it progressing guys?

Just wondering if DirectX 8/9 acceleration in Vista VMs is on the dev's radar.

If it is, can any devs give us any indication on when experimental support might show up?

What do you mean? I haven't tried DX acceleration in Vista guests, but I would expect it to work (my Vista Experience meter thing shows DX9 support).

All the testing resources are currently going into Windows XP SP2. A lot of it should work in Vista, but we aren't testing it there currently. Probably a bit more buggy since it doesn't give love, but definitely worth trying on yourside.

DirectX should be working in Vista VMs. I tried the built in games before 3D support and they were so slow I couldn't play them. When I tried in the 1.1rc, it was the speed I expected it to be.

You won't get the Aero experience because that requires a lot more than DirectX 9.0 w/o shaders.

Ah, I assumed that the lack of any mention of DirectX support in Vista meant that functionality was disabled. I'll be certain to try it out.
