Slaggy GUI performance in Windows 10 guest when using built in GPU

Hello guys,

I've MBP 2018 with i9, 32 GB RAM, Radeon Pro 560X, 1 TB SSD.

I'm using Big Sur 11.2.3 and Fusion 12.1 Pro. I use on a daily basis a VM with latest Windows 10 Enterprise and if I configure the MBP to always use the discrete GPU, the performance of VM is good but if I choose default settings and let the OS to use built in GPU (Intel), the GUI performance of Windows itself and Chrome is slaggy. It's not terrible but for example the circle when Windows is loading is not smooth and scrolling lags a little.

Is this a bug? I think that built in GPU should be enough tu handle basic Windows tasks including the GUI and Chrome. I don't want to use Radeon always.

I tried to enable and disable graphic acceleration without success. I also incremented the VRAM to 8 GB without luck. The VM is configured to use 6 CPU, 10 GB of RAM and 3D acceleration.

Thank you.

6 cores is right on the edge of what that machine can handle, so that may be part of it.

Are you using an external screen?

Hi,

I changed the cores to 4 and the problem persist. I'm using built-in screen, no external one.
