Shrinking Fusion Disk runs forever, and now is inaccessible

I ran the Shrink command in Tools, and after running through the file cleanup and then the disk shrink, it just stalled out for over 8 hours, at which time I killed the process. I can see the temp vmdk file in the Virtual Machine package contents, but whenever I try and start the virtual machine it does absolutely nothingno error, no black boxnothing. Can't even access the Settings for the virtual machine.

Of course I have no backup of this machine (Time machine would fill my external disk in 2 sessions if I allowed it to backup the virtual machine files every time). Are there any tools that I can run on the virtual machine to try and get it going again.

Honestly I'm blown away that there's no unpaid support for the product after 30 days...I've never heard of such a poor support plan, especially when there's absolutely NOTHING in their knowledgebase for the product ("shink" doesn't even return one hit!) Hopefully someone's got some advice for me.
