Share a disk between the Mac Desktop & the VM

Hi,

When I plug an USB external drive on my Mac, I may choose to connect it the Mac or to the VM.

It is windows formatted so it is read only when I choose Mac.

Unfortunatly, when I choose the VM, the disk disappears from my Mac Desktop.

Would it be possible to keep the disk accessible from the 2 systems, and by the way be able to write directly on it via the Mac Finder ?

Thanks

No, a physical device may only be attached to one OS at a time - so either your host or one guest.

If you want to be able to read/write from both OS's at the same time, you need to use network file sharing.  Create a shared folder on the drive, and inside the guest VM, attach to the network share you created.
