Reinstall Fusion v10

Fusion v10 crashed; on restart, it cannot launch Windows.

Error message is:  Failed to open kernel extension "com.vmware.kext.vmci": No such file or directory

Fusion v12 is not supported on the host's OS (MacOS 10.13).  Is there a way to reinstall or otherwise repair Fusion v10?

Hi,

Did you get the question to allow VMware drivers in apple menu -> System Preferences -> Security & Privacy on the General tab?

It should have been there just under the "Allow apps downloaded from" section.

If you did allow the VMware drivers there already -possible as it worked before- then it is likely that your kernel extension is not getting loaded for another reason, a permission mixup of some kind.

In that case you can probably get past this by deleting the /private/var/db/KernelExtensionManagement folder and reboot. After rebooting and starting VMware the folder will be recreated with the correct permissions and things should start to work.
