Rebuilding Windows Applications Icons

Greetings

I use a program called quicksilver, it launches applications for me when I type their name,ie see screenshot: > http://tinyurl.com/3crn6v

But I have several programs missing, I found out all those 'shortcuts' to windows programs were located inside the directory where the vmware stores the windows image

I have one program that's missing from that list however, lotus notes. I have added an icon for it on the start menu, but i'm not sure how to rebuild the icons so that notes shows up there ... thus allowing me to open notes from quicksilver.

Shut down the Virtual Machine and restart it. This should rebuild the list.

I've done that many times, The Lotus Notes icon does not show up still, although it's in the start menu.

I followed the hack here http://www.vmware.com/community/thread.jspa?messageID=702762&#702762 and now have a Lotus Notes dock icon too. It's not perfect but it works.

Yes, I can indeed do it manually but I don't see why, there already is a process in place that initially created those icons. We need someone to explain why that one notes icon is not being created automatically.

Just as an experiment I deleted the programs from the Applications directory... to my horror they have not 'regenerated'.

Is there a way to force recreation of the applications?
