Re-apportioning partition sizes of 256gb ssd in MacBook Pro Retina (2015) using VMware 8.5 and Windows 10 virtual desktop

The system is running fine with no issues: however I wish to reduce the partition of 60gb allocated to Windows 10.

Can I easily do this without reinstalling everything? Please explain with paint-by-numbers guide. Thanks

Hello,

VMware doesn't allow you to reduce the partition size of a VM.

You can reclaim unused disk space with shrink / clean up.

With the VM shut down, go to settings -> general -> "Clean up Virtual machine"

On Fusion 10, you can have VMware Fusion do that automatically for you on shutdown, by checking a checkbox down there.

If you really want to move to a smaller partition/disk then the easiest way would be by using the free VMware vConverter.

Download VMware vCenter Converter Standalone for P2V Conversion

Sorry I don't have a step by step guide for that atm.
