Is your SSD using USB 3.1?
Yes, it is a USB powered hub. I also tried the first way I got it on a MAC MINI 2012 3 years ago with Jeff,s first video of how to do it in 2017.
I tried that method disconnecting and reconnecting the drive as in the video below. How to install Windows 10 on Mac using an external drive - YouTube
I can,t do it the easy way I am sorry to say. As my internal drive is only 256. I have a T5 and a 2m drive and a couple of other SSD S It is a pain that i can,t get it on another drive, My current Mac is a 2017 5K iMac.I have been trying to do it with the MAC MINI but still no luck.
USB 3.1 is not yet supported with Fusion to pass through to VMs ('guests').
For now you can use the Tech Preview linked in the 'Announcement' section of this community (which can be installed side-by-side with the regular version).
