I have been a paid user of VMware Fusion for many years (almost since I purchased by first MacBook) and purchased upgrades for the product until the latest one where the Player version was available & I could not figure out the upgrade pricing being offered.
Until the latest update, I had allocated 3 cores of my MacBook Pro for Windows 10. When I ran the "Health Check" application for upgrade readiness, it showed I had 3 cores available.
As I upgraded to the latest version of VMware Fusion (Player Version 12.2.0), the "Health Check" App is now showing that I have only 1 processor core allocated to Windows 10.
Is this a bug/ or the processor core allocation steps have changed
Hi,
That's weird.
Can you attach a vmware.log file please? (You can find these log files in the VM's bundle, in Finder, right click on the VM, then select "Show Package Contents")

Hi,
Looking at the log I see 4 vCPU's are configured according to the .vmx file.
vmx DICT numvcpus = "4"
But then a few lines under that I see:
2021-10-16T11:33:26.456Z In(05) vmx Monitor Mode: ULM
2021-10-16T11:33:26.481Z In(05) vmx OvhdMem_PowerOn: initial admission: paged 2122824 nonpaged 5464 anonymous 8814
2021-10-16T11:33:26.481Z In(05) vmx VMMEM: Initial Reservation: 8348MB (MainMem=4096MB)
2021-10-16T11:33:26.481Z In(05) vmx MemSched_PowerOn: balloon minGuestSize 209715 (80% of min required size 262144)
2021-10-16T11:33:26.482Z In(05) vmx llc: maximum vcpus per LLC: 1
2021-10-16T11:33:26.482Z In(05) vmx llc: vLLC size: 1
I never heard about LLC before and it appears to be either "Load Line Calibration" or "Last Level Cache".. and even then I'm still not sure what to make of the above. Probably not related.
Hmm.. not seeing any explanation in the logs.
re. "many errors".. the log files tend to be a bit noisy and they list config files not being available as "unable to open", most of what you consider errors are in fact just notifications.
Any line that has "In(05)" is "Information" .. not an error.
