Process / Memory Vmware Fusion 10 on MacBook Pro 2016

Hi,

I am trying to run software (windows only) using Fusion 10 that requires 4 GB of RAM but when I allocate 2 processors and 4 GB of RAM to the virtual machine the software does not run properly. The software is using video files/ Unfortunately this newer version of the MacBook Pro (2016) won't allow me to upgrade the RAM.

Hardware:

processor: 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5

memory: 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

graphics:

Intel Iris Graphics 550 1536 MB

Hoping someone has recommendations before I need to purchase a separate laptop with 16 GB of RAM or more just to use the full functionality of this software, thanks!

Run activity monitor on your Mac, specifically the memory tab, and see if you can allocate more memory to vmware/Win10.

Depending on what you're running on both OSX and Win10, it may be impossible.  But, you didn't provide any information so we really can't help.

So a couple of things.  I believe that's a 2 core CPU, so you shouldn't allocate more than 1 CPU to the virtual machine.  Second, it has integrated graphics, which may or may not be sufficient for a video/graphics program.
