Problem with download of VMWare 10 upgrade from VMWare 8 on my MacBook Pro with high sierra

I had a problem with VM Ware ver. 8 not recognizing the USB ports on the Windows side (using Windows 7).  I called and got the free trial version of VM Ware 10 and downloaded it and am getting the following message: Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to

What do I do now?  I need this program so that I can use Windows version of Quickbooks for my business.

It's likely just a security setting that needs to be configured.

Please check whether the solution provided at Error: “Cannot connect to a valid peer process”  solves the issue for you too.

... System Preferences > Security & Privacy >  General

and then ticking the "Allow VMWare" ...
