I am confused and wondering if the fusion 11 pro private network vmnet blocking windows DHCP server DORA?
I tried ARP, ipconfig release and renew...nothing works.
Here is my scenario:
I am using Fusion 11 pro.
VMware fusion custom network vmnet03
I unchecked provide addresses on this network via DHCP.
2. Win 10 pro. connected to vmnet03 network
SERVER configuration
DHCP scope: 192.168.1.10 to 254
Client win 10 pro configuration
Hi Israelistic ,
Could your Windows 10 VM get IP via DHCP when DHCP is disabled via Network pane?
No, Windows 10 did not receive any IP via Windows DHCP server. The DHCP on the VMware Fusion network pane provide its own DHCP from the subnet that either you or the program auto-generated define. I want Windows Server to manage the lease and assign IP via DHCP role to the client (Windows 10). I assume that something on the vmnet is blocking the 'DORA' process.
I know Windows DHCP did not lease the IP because there is nothing showing on the lease and windows is not getting the IP.
I could not reproduce the IP receiving issue with the same configuration as yours . I set up a windows 2016 as DHCP server using vmnet2, and Windows 10 VM connected to vmnet2 could get IP address.
How did you configure vmnet2 can you share a print screen, please.
Is there a command to reset configuration?
on top of this, I added a video
