launched vmware running win 7 and now get this message
Failed to power on '/Users/johnkordomenos/Documents/Virtual Machines/Windows 7 x64.vmwarevm/Windows 7 x64.vmx'
please help
Hi,
There's been a few more posts where macOS changed things during an update with the side effect that it caused users not being able to start their VM's.
In that case, the error also mentioned "could not open /dev/vmmon"
This can most like be resolved by removing the /private/var/db/KernelExtensionManagement folder and reboot.
In the terminal run the following command:
sudo rm -rf /private/var/db/KernelExtensionManagement
Be careful not to add any additional spaces!
Then reboot and try again.

If the vmx file is corrupted you'll get another error.
Removing staging folder for kernel extensions is harmless.
If you want me to look at the issue in more details then you have to post the vmware.log file that is in your virtual machine's bundle (right click bundle -> show package contents
compress the vmware.log file and attach it to a reply.
